Allelopathy of forage species on germination and peroxidase activity in lettuce Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Bulegon, Lucas Guilherme; Meinerz, Cristiane Claudia; Castagnara, Deise Dalazen; Battistus, Andre Gustavo; Guimarães, Vandeir Francisco; Neres, Marcela Abbado.
Allelopathy is defined as the inhibitory or beneficial effect, direct or indirect, of one plant to another. Thus, it was conducted in the laboratory and under completely randomized design, a bioassay with the aim of evaluating the effect of aqueous extracts, obtained by infusion of dried leaves of oat (Avena sativa cv. IPR 126), pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan cv. Mandarin), ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) and braquiaria (Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu), on the germination, content of cellular protein and peroxidase activity of lettuce (Lactuca sativa). The extracts of pigeon pea and oats reduced germination, which oats had higher allelopathic effect, delaying and reducing the emergence of lettuce seedings. To these treatments also was observed the lower...

Influence of crop-livestock systems with Zea mays L. and Brachiaria brizantha on the corn productivity variables Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Ramella, João Ricardo Pompermaier; Battistus, André Gustavo; da Silva, Cristiano; Libardi, Keli Daiana Cristina; Castagnara, Deise Dalazen; de Oliveira, Paulo Sérgio Rabello; Neres, Marcela Abbado.
Mixed systems of exploitation of crop and livestock have called attention to the advantages over isolated systems of farming or ranching. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of seeding rates of Brachiaria brizantha (0.0; 5.0; 10.0 e 15.0 kg ha-1) in the variables of corn productivity and B. brizantha plant stand when cultivated in the consortium. The experiment was established in a randomized complete block design with four replications using the maize cultivar Pioneer 30K64Y sown under the spacing of 0.90 m between rows. We evaluated the number of kernel rows, number of kernels per row, ear length, ear diameter, ear height, plant height, plant population and productivity in corn, as well as plant stand in B. brizantha....

Novos aspectos relacionados à produção de feno no Brasil Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Neres, Marcela Abbado; Ames, João Paulo.
The hay production in Brazil has grown in recent years due to the producer awareness of the need for bulkyanimal supplementation of forage during the offseason. The hay production brings the advantage of the fact that these can bestored in different locations on the property, the ease of displacement relative to silage, plus the option of sale. In the case ofmarketing we are envisioning a growing market for the sale of bulky maintained. The current situation in our country followsthe trend of other, i.e., increasingly conserved forages are produced and marketed by specialized companies. With this we havea market that is increasingly demanding in health quality and nutritional value of forage purchased what makes producersworry about the supply of a high...
